Overall, our mission at Chelsea Jewish Nursing home is simple: to provide exceptional skilled nursing care for our residents with unwavering compassion, dignity and respect. The high standard of care at Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home ensures residents receive excellent attention and service from a team of compassionate and professionally trained healthcare staff. CJNH respects each individual and understands the importance of making residents and their families feel at home.
The Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home is in the midst of completing a spectacular $16 million renovation. The three-floor residences will be modeled after the Green House® concept, which creates the same feeling and experience you get from living in a real home. Each “home” is designed for 10-12 residents, resulting in a warm and cozy atmosphere.
One of the most appealing elements of this green house concept is cooking in each “home.” Kitchens on each floor allow for wonderful aromas to permeate throughout each house. This, in turn, creates an even higher quality of food service.

At the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home, we are radically redefining and re-envisioning what nursing home life is — and how to live with aging, illness, Alzheimer’s or dementia. The Kaleidoscope Program at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing is a very unique arts therapy program. It represents a shift from primarily focusing on the personal care of the body to caring for the whole person – mind, heart, body and soul together.
A typical day in the Kaleidoscope Program consists of an arts program in the morning such as flower arranging, song-writing, listening to music or a creative group discussion. Afternoons are filled with competitions involving staff and residents in such activities as shuffle toss, bowling, basket toss games and fishing tournaments. Night activities include card games, art projects concerts and birthday/holiday celebrations.
Rooted in the intersection of person-centered care and expressive arts therapies, the Kaleidoscope Program helps our elders engage, learn, grow, explore, experience and lead meaningful and joyous lives given the limitations associated with aging and illness.
